Robert Stephenson Museum

Camden Railway Heritage Trust has joined the campaign to get the alignment of HS2 moved from under the Victorian villas on Gloucester Avenue to the northwest to run under the existing railway lines - passing under Stephenson's stationary winding engine vaults.  CRHT's concern is that the HS2 development, together with other local developments at 44 Gloucester Avenue, safeguard the future possibility of opening the vaults to the public as a Museum to Robert Stephenson, one of our most notable engineers.

A possible use for the vaults as both museum and entertainment centre - bar/restaurant, gallery and performance space - is shown on the  plan.
